Queen’s Park 0 Rangers 3
Rangers Under 15’s ended their season with a comfortable win against Queen’s Park at Lesser Hampden tonight. The home side had the better of the first period and just before the midway point they were awarded a free kick twenty-five yards out which was hit over the wall but straight at Jamie Wilson. Dylan Stevenson then sent a superb pass inside the full back on the left to release Ben Reilly but he shot straight at the keeper when a pass across goal to the unmarked Ryan Hardie may have been the better option.
A long-range effort then gave Jamie Wilson a few problems but the Rangers keeper did enough diving to his left and turn the ball wide for a corner and the first period ended goalless.
Rangers took the lead eight minutes into the second period, Steven Chatterton played the ball forward to Dylan Stevenson on the right, who went past the full back and played the ball across goal to give Ryan Hardie a simple tap in.
A minute later a cross from the right, midway inside the Queens Park half saw the home keeper dive to his left to save Ryan Hardie’s header, when the ball landed back at the Rangers striker’s feet his shot from a tight angle went across goal and wide of the far post. Midway through the period a poor clearance from the keeper was intercepted by Ryan Hardie and the Rangers striker raced clear, with the Spider’s keeper redeeming himself and diverting the ball for a corner.
Rangers were now dominating and the next effort came when Ben Reilly cut in from the left with the keeper saving low at his right hand post. Ben Reilly then turned creator, coming across field from the left his reverse pass put Ryan Hardie through but he shot wide of the keeper’s right hand post.
Two minutes into the final period Rangers doubled their lead with a fantastic Dylan Stevenson strike, coming off the right hand touchline he sent a unstoppale twenty-five yarder high past the keeper into the net. Substitute Sam Liddington then played the ball forward to Ben Reilly on the left, who cut into the box and sent a shot across goal and just wide.
The final goal came with just less than fifteen minutes remaining, Ryan Smith played the ball forward to Dylan Stevenson who passed inside to Ryan Hardie, the Rangers striker sending a superb chip from the edge of the box over the keeper and into the net.
