Friendly Win For Under 18’s

Rangers 5 Dundee 1

It was a comfortable win for a Rangers “Under 18’s” side that included two Under 19’s over a young Dundee side made up of mainly Under 17’s.

The first chance came on five minutes when Malcolm Ebiowei showed great skill to go past a defender on the right hand angle of the box before shooting over. Less than five minutes later Rangers took the lead, Connor Allan provided the through ball for Rory Wilson to force the ball past the keeper and into the net.

On the quarter hour mark Zak McKay sent Rory Wilson down the right, he passed inside to Malcolm Ebiowei who saw his shot saved by Tom Welsh. Dundee immediately broke to the other end with Auley Martin breaking into the right side of the penalty area with Jack McConnell blocking the shot with his legs.

Rangers extended their lead on the twenty minute mark, Malcolm Ebiowei picked out Rory Wilson, his first time effort was blocked by Tom Welsh but he reacted to nod the rebound into the net. A couple of minutes beyond the half-hour mark Rangers had a free-kick on the edge of the box with Malcolm Ebiowei’s strike clipping the bar on the way over.

Dundee reduced the deficit ten minutes before the break, Auley Martin passed to Josh McGuire wide on the right and his low cross was converted by Jamie Richardson at close range. Rangers restored their two goal cushion with a couple of minutes of the half remaining, Connor Allan hit the right hand byline and from his low cross Rory Wilson slid in to convert.

Rangers scored a fourth just after the hour mark, the trialist left back on the left past to Tyler Pasnik just inside the box where he sidestepped a defender before shooting across the keeper and into the net. The scoring was completed with fifteen minutes remaning, Tyler Pasnik’s pass sent the trialist down the left and his low cross was fired past the keeper by Jack Roberts.
