Rangers Host U18’s Games

Rangers hosted a three team U18 tournament at The Training Centre this afternoon, the games were played over two thirty minute halves.

Bournemouth emerged winners by wining both games, while Rangers and Middlesbrough shared four goals.

Rangers were probably second best in both their games but i would qualify that with the fact that Rangers used two different starting XI’s in each game.

The first chance came from Bournemouth when Lewis Brown delivered a corner from the right Max Kinsey-Wellings rose to head and Sam Kane dived to his left to make the save. The visitors then took the lead from the penalty spot when Toure Williams was fouled inside the box. Daniel Adu-Adjei took the penalty and despite a valiant effort from Sam Kane who got a hand to the ball diving to his left it found the net via the inside of the post.

A couple of minutes before the break Lancelot Pollard sent Zak McKay to the left hand byline and his low cross was cut out by the diving Ollie Camis. Bournemouth doubled their lead on the stroke of half time from a bizarre Own Goal their was little danger with Kristian Webster in possession on the left side of his own box but when he passed the ball back Sam Kane wasn’t where he though he was and the ball rolled into the net.

Ten minutes into the second half some good play from Ryan Duncan on the right makes space to play the a ball across goal and Jack Roberts flicks just wide of the far post. Less than five minutes later Jack Roberts is played through inside the left side of the penalty area but Mack Allan stands up to parry the shot.

Jack Roberts then turns provider, his pass sending Lancelot Pollard through but a heavy second touch closes the distance between him and Mack Allan which allows the keeper to make the save.
