Revenge For Under 18’s

Rangers 4 Kilmarnock 0

Following last week’s disappointing defeat at Rugby Park Rangers Under 18’s put four past the same opposition without reply, it was a comfortable win which could have been by a higher margin.

The first chance came on nine minutes, Kyle Semple’s header sending Tyler Pasnik down the left, he passed inside to Robbie Ure who shot wide of the far post. Two minutes later the ball was played to Robbie Ure on the edge of the box, he held off a defender and the keeper was a bit fortunate to see the ball go wide of his left hand post at the ball squirmed under him.

Just after the midpoint of the half Mackenzie Strachan’s corner from the right was headed clear to the left hand angle of the box where Tyler Pasnik’s shot was gathered by the keeper at the second attempt. Rangers took the lead a couple of minutes later, Tyler Pasnik won possession in midfield and passed to Darren McInally, his through ball sent Rory Wilson through into the penalty area to dink the ball past the advancing keeper.

Half-Time:- Rangers 1 Kilmarnock 0

Three minutes after the break Robbie Ure’s solo effort took him past two defenders and into the box, his shot was blocked and in the scramble the ball found its way to Mackenzie Strachan inside the left side of the penalty area and he saw his shot saved. Killie had shown little in the way of an attacking force but a long throw in from the right and a flick on saw the ball prodded just wide of the near post.

With the half’s midpoint approaching Robbie Ure won the ball inside the Kilmarnock half and passed to Tyler Pasnik who’s twenty five yarder was just wide of the keeper’s left hand post. Within two minutes Rangers double their lead, Leyton Dunlop swung in a free-kick from the right hand angle of the box, the ball evaded everyone and found the net at the far post.

With thirteen minutes remaining Mackenzie Strachan’s corner from the right saw the visitor’s defence struggle to clear and when the ball found its way to the back post Robbie Ure was on hand to net from close range. From Mackenzie Strachan’s next corner from the right was flicked on at the near post by Robbie Ure and found Connor Allan arriving at the back post who volleyed against the crossbar.

Rangers added a fourth with five minutes remaining, James Graham picking up a loose ball and beating the keeper from the edge of the box. Kilmarnock had the last effort of the game, another long throw on the right and another flick on, this time a volley which Jack McConnell saved.

Thanks again for the excellent match report. I didn’t know the scorers, and kept reading and thinking “come on Robbie, you must score now”, and he did. Once again, thanks for the match report.
