A Rangers squad that included three trialists and two 2007’s put six goals past Partick Thistle at the Hummel Training Centre tonight.

There was six minutes on the clock when Rangers took the lead, Trialist No.10 provided the pass to Rory Wilson inside the left side of the box and he shot across the keeper into the far corner. Twenty minutes later Thistle broke into the left side of Rangers penalty area, Sam Kane made a fine save from the shot and the rebound was fired high over.

Two minutes later the play was switched to Finlay Curtis on the right, he cut inside before forcing a save from the keeper at the near post. Rangers first chance of the second period came five minutes in, Rory Wilson providing the pass for Chris Eadie who was denied when the keeper dived to his left to parry.

With the hour mark approaching Rocco Friel crossed from the right and Ethan Sutherland arrived at the far post but headed into the side netting. Rangers doubled their lead on the hour mark with a superb goal, it started on the left with Cooper Knox and moved through Ethan Sutherland to Rory Wilson who played the ball out to Kerr Robertson before moving into the box and glance a header past the keeper from the right wing cross.

Ten minutes later the Thistle keeper touched Rory Wilson’s free-kick from the edge of the box on to his right hand post but was helpless as Grant Marchant followed up to net the rebound. A couple of minutes later it was four, Ethan Sutherland sending Rory Wilson through and he calmly lobbed the ball over the keeper.

There was still time for Rangers to add a fifth before the end of the second period, Ethan Sutherland again provided the pass to Rory Wilson, this time wide on the left and fully thirty yards from goal from where he fired a shot over the keeper and into the net. Five minutes into the final period Finlay Curtis cut in from the right past two defenders but was denied when the keeper dived high to his rightto touch the ball on to the crossbar.

Ethen Sutherand then attacked the left hand angle of the box where he exchanged passes with Finlay Curtis but his attempted lob went across the face of goal. The scoring was completed when Finlay Curtis through ball released Crispin McLean who continued into the box and slotted the ball past the keeper.
