Colts Draw With Queens Park

Rangers 1 Queens Park 1

An injury time Cole McKinnon free-kick provided a late leveller in today’s B Team friendly against Queens Park at The Rangers Training Centre. In difficult conditions it was a game of few chances and neither keeper was called into action too often.

Mason Munn was the first called into action on eight minutes, diving out to gather a low cross from the right. Close to the midpoint of the half Thompson Ishaka’s shot from the edge of the box beat the keeper but came back off the crossbar.

Just beyond the half-hour mark Connor Allan got his head to a corner from the right with the Queens Park keeper saving comfortably to his right. The visitors took the lead on the stroke of half-time, it was created on the left and the resultant cross was volleyed past Mason Munn at the back post.

Eight minutes after the break the ball broke to Thompson Ishaka inside the right side of the box and he was denied when the keeper tipped his powerful shot over. The game was inside the final twenty minutes when Johnly Yfeko switched play to find Cole McKinnon inside the right side of the box with his shot going across goal and wide of the far post.

With fifteen minutes left Josh Gentles teed up Cole McKinnon for a shot from the edge of the box that was just wide of the keeper’s right hand post. Deep into injury time Josh Gentles was fouled on the right hand angle of the box and Cole McKinnon stepped up to fire over the wall and past the keeper.
