Rangers Under 15’s (2005’s) recorded a more comfortable win than the scoreline suggests in yesterday afternoon’s game at The Hummel Training Centre.

Rangers took the lead with barely sixty seconds on the clock, Ricco Diack’s effort from tight on the left hand byline went across the face of goal to Zak McKay beyond the far post and he fired into the roof of the net. The visitor’s replied with an attack down the right and when the ball was passed inside Scott Cowie was forced into a fine save, diving to his right to parry the shot.

Rangers reply was a Ricco Diack pass to set up Tyler Pasnik inside the left side of the penalty area and his shot saw the Accies keeper dive to his left to make the save. Rangers doubled their lead on thirteen minutes, Euan Ross winning the ball on the right hand angle of the box and his pass inside saw Tyler Pasnik’s twenty-five yarder leave the keeper stranded as it found the net just inside his right hand post.

Four minutes later Hamilton reduced the deficit, the ball came in from the left and the shot from the edge of the box beat Scott Cowie. Just after the half hour mark Rangers restored their two goal lead from the penalty spot. Zak McKay drove the ball across from the right hand byline, Tiaman Scott nipped ahead of a defender who bundled him over and the Rangers winger got up to convert from the spot.

On the stroke of half-time Rangers increased their lead to a three goal cushion, Zak McKay went past a defender to the right hand byline, Ricco Diack got a touch to his driven cross and the ball seemed to be crossing the line but Tyler Pasnik made sure.

Rangers extended their lead eight minutes after the break, Jamie Newton the provider, passing to Zak Queen inside the box and he shot past the keeper. A few minutes later Tyler Pasnik capitalised on a slip by a defender to break into the right side of the penalty area but his shot came back off the crossbar.

Accies scored a second goal just after the hour, the attack coming into the right side of the box with the shot beating Jacob Pazikas at his near post despite the keeper getting a hand to it. With the final quarter-hour approaching the visitors narrowed the gap further, a short headed pass back allowed the attacker to lob Jacob Pazikas and into the net. 

Rangers were soon back on the attack and when Jamie Newton teed up Tiaman Scott inside the left side of the box he shot into the side netting. Hamilton immediately broke to the other end and the low cross from the right was heading to an unmarked player at the back post until Jacob Pazikas dived out to gather the cross. The final chance came following good play from Ricco Diack on the right his pass into the box was left by Tiaman Scott for Jamie Newton who’s shot came back off the crossbar.
