Friendly Win For 18’s

Rangers 2 Morton 0

A Rangers Under 18’s side had a comfortable win over Morton at The Hummel Training Centre tonight. Although it wasn’t a big margin of victory, the visitors never really troubled either of the Rangers keepers. With a few players on international duty it was an opportunity for a few younger players.

The first chance came when James Maxwell took on a defender on the edge of the box and his shot brought out a fine save from the keeper tipping over. Midway through the half Rangers attacked the centre of the box and when the ball broke to Kieran McKechnie his shot was saved by the keeper low to his left.

Rangers took the lead a couple of minutes before the break, James Maxwell’s corner from the right picked out Matty Yates near post run and his glancing header found the net via the far post.

The final chance came from a diagonal pass the picked out Chris McKee inside the right side of the box with the keeper diverting his shot wide of the near post.
