A Tale Of Two Errors

Rangers and Ross County shared the spoils in tonight’s Development League match at Forthbank tonight, both goal were down to individual errors although over the piece a draw was probably the correct result.

The visitors had the first real effort on goal just after the quarter hour mark, a corner from the right was cleared to Davis Keillor-Dunn on the edge of the box and he stepped inside a defender before firing just wide of Kieran Wright’s left hand post. Rangers came close to breaking the deadlock ten minutes later, Aidan Wilson got on the end of Billy Gimour’s corner from the right and his header bounced of the face of the crossbar before being cleared.

Rangers edged ahead just before the half hour mark, Jamie Barjonas and Ross Lyon exchanged a series of passes to progress up the right side of the pitch and when Mark Foden fumbled the latter’s cross Zak Rudden was left with a simple tap in from a couple of yards. County replied when Greg Morrison sent Russell Dingwall down the right and his cross to the back post found Davis Keillor-Dunn who’s header was headed clear by David Bates in front of goal.

Ten minutes before the break Davis Keillor- Dunn threatened again, cutting in from the right before his shot was deflected narrowly wide of the far post.

Early in the second half Jordan Gibson drove towards the penalty area before playing the ball up to Zak Rudden who laid it into the path of Ross Lyon and he saw his shot deflected just wide of the keeper’s right hand post. Billy Gilmour swung in the resultant corner that Zak Rudden headed towards goal where David Bates flicked header looked goal bound until Reghan Tumillty headed from the goal line. Within a minute Reghan Tumillty was breaking down the right and from his cross Greg Morrison’s header bounced on the top of the crossbar on the way over.

On seventy minutes Ross County drew level, Kieran Wright played a short goal kick to Aidan Wilson on the edge of the penalty area where he was caught in possession by Ross McIvor who stepped into the box to prod the ball past Kieran Wright. As the final quarter hour approached Dylan Dykes tried his luck from around twenty five yards and left of centre that had Kieran Wright diving to his left to parry.
