U15’s Outplayed By Hibernian

Rangers 0 Hibernian 3

Rangers Under 15’s were outplayed and outpassed by a slick Hibernian side at Murray Park this morning. The Edinburgh side controlled the game from start to finish and it wasn’t until the final quarter-hour that Rangers seriously threatened the Hibernian goal.

Only two minutes had gone when the visitor’s came close to taking the lead, a free-kick from around twenty-five yards was deflected, wrong footing keeper Ryan Millar and he could only watch as the ball bounced off his right hand post. Five minutes later Hibernian took the lead, the attack came down the right and when the ball was played in low across the box Kyle Bradley turned the ball past his own keeper.

The lead should have been doubled just before the twenty-minute mark, from a corner from the right it found the head of a Hibs player on the edge of the six yard box in the middle of the goal but he headed over. A minute later a shot from the edge of the box was deflected and Ryan Millar managed to change direction to produce a fine save low to his left.

Eight minutes before the break Hibs doubled their lead, the attack again came down the right and when the ball found its way to an unmarked player at the back post a goal seemed certain until Robbie Smith made a great challenge but the defence failed to react and when the ball landed at another Hibs player he found the net from the left side of the box. The impressive Hibs No.10 made it three just before half-time, breaking to the edge of the box before shooting past Ryan Millar.

Half-Time:- Rangers 0 Hibernian 3

With the wind at their backs Rangers came into the game a bit after the break but it was Hibs who came close after twenty minutes, from deep inside the right hand side of the box the shot was across goal and wide of the post. As the game entered the last quarter-hour a long Jamie Barjonas pass found Andy Dallas inside the box, the Hibs keeper got enough on his shot to allow his defence to clear.

Andy Dallas gained possession on the right and when he passed to Sam Jamieson inside the box the referee judged he was fouled and pointed to the spot. The same player stepped up to take the kick but was denied by a fine save low to his right by the Hibs keeper. Right on the full-time whistle Kieran Balfour passed inside from the left to Andy Dallas who’s shot beat the keeper but rebounded from the cross-bar.
