Comfortable Win For 15’s

Rangers 4 Stehousemuir 0

Rangers under 15’s had a comfortable win over Stenhousemuir at Murray Park tonight. There was little goalmouth action early on and there was seventeen minutes on the clock when George Bowyer headed a Gary McGreish corner from the left goalwards only to see it cleared from the line at the back post. When the ball was cleared from the box Max Ashmore’s pass through the defence found Reece Duncan free inside the box to shoot past the keeper.

A minute later Reece Duncan broke forward from midfield and his shot from around twenty-five yards was only just too high. It was another long-range effort that tested the visitor’s keeper just less than ten minutes later, good play by Max Ashmore saw him win the ball and go past two defenders before going for goal, with the keeper  saving comfortably.

Rangers doubled their lead on the half-hour mark and it was a solo effort from Ross McCrorie, breaking through the middle he went past a defender into the box and fired past the keeper from around the penalty spot. A third goal arrived before the half-time break, Max Ashmore’s attempted through ball broke off a defender into the path of Reece Duncan who fired home.

Half-Time:- Rangers 3 Stenhousemuir 0

Just over ten minutes into the second-half Rangers fourth goal arrived and it was similar to their third, this time Reece Duncan’s attempted pass into the box broke to Daniel Bonner off a defender and the striker beat the keeper with a calm finish. Rangers came close to adding another from Cammy Price’s free-kick from the left Jamie Barjonas was just wide with a header.

With ten minutes remaining Stenhousemuir hand their best chance of the night, a free kick from halfway found its way to a Stenhousemuir player free inside the box, his miss hit shot went across goal to a colleague in an even better position but he shot over. Rangers had the final worthwhile effort on goal, Josh Jeffries fed Jack Gilmour on the right and when his cross was headed out of the box by a defender Jamie Barjonas fired it back and the keeper gathered at the second attempt.
