Rangers 10 Clyde o

35

Clyde were no match for a Rangers under 17 side that hit top form at Murray Park tonight, in the end it proved a bit of a mismatch with Rangers hitting double figures.

Rangers opened the scoring after only five minutes, Ryan Hardie was the creator with a run down the right and Adam Wilson didn’t have to break stride to meet his pass inside and fire past the keeper. Four minutes later it was two, Gloady Ntumba picked up a loose ball inside the box near the byline on the right and beat the keeper with a shot from a narrow angle.

Only another four minutes had elapsed when Tom Walsh’s pass split the defence and Gloady Ntumba raced clear to slot home the third. Rangers continued on the attack with Tom Walsh sending Jamie Mills towards the byline on the left, from his cross the visitor’s keeper did well to parry Gloady Ntumba’s header.

The keeper was called into action again in the twenty-fifth minute, the ball was worked from centre to left via Dylan Dykes and Adam Wilson onto Andy McKinnon, with the keeper turning is shot wide of his right hand post. It was another attack down the left that saw the keeper making a brave save, Andy McKinnon sent Jamie Mills down the left and when his pass found Dylan Dykes breaking into the box the Clyde keeper saved at the midfielder’s feet.

Third time lucky with an attack down the left and Rangers scored a fourth, Andy McKinnon again sent the overlapping Jamie Mills clear, this time his cross was pinpoint and Dylan Dykes headed home. The next chance came from a Ryan Hardie solo run, moving across the edge of the box from right to left ending with a chip over the keeper that was just too high.

Half-Time:- Rangers 4 Clyde 0

Barely sixty seconds into the second-half Rangers increased their lead, Andy McKinnon was the architect with a run and cross on the left and a bullet header from Gloady Ntumba completed his hat-trick. A superb run from Dylan Dykes took him past defenders into the box and when he played the ball across the six yard box only a brilliant defensive challenge denied Ryan Hardie.

On the hour mark substitute Junior Ogen sent Ryan Hardie clear to round the keeper and stroke the ball into the net. Five minutes later Jamie Mills cut in from the left and his pass into the box broke to Junior Ogenwho side-stepped the keeper before scoring.

Midway through the half Kjeld McIntyre sent Ryan Sinnamon down the right, the full back cut inside before curling a superb shot past the keeper and in to the net at the far post. With ten minutes remaining Clyde had their best chance of the match, from a corner from the left the ball was headed just wide of Liam Kelly’s right hand post.

The Rangers side showed no mercy by going straight up the other end and scoring again, Jamie Mills sent a cross in from the left and with Andy McKinnon challenging the ball was missed by both him and the Clyde keeper and ended up in the corner of the net. The scoring was complete with Ryan Hardie breaking into the box on the right, his chip came back off the far post but into the path of Ally Berry who fired into the net.
