13’s Hit Double Figures

With manager Ally McCoist watching part of the game from the sidelines Rangers U13’s hit double figures against Falkirk at Murray Park this afternoon.

The opening goal came when Carlo Pigniatello’s free-kick from the left side of the box was headed into the net by Matthew Sheils. The second goal arrived when Zak Rudden rescued the ball on the right hand byline and played the ball back to Jordan Houston who’s cross found Dylan Patterson at the back post and his shot across goal was converted by Aaron Mooney at close range.

A superb finish from Dylan Patterson provided the third goal, curling a shot over the keeper and into the net from just inside the left side of the box. The final goal of the first period was created when Matthew Sheils laid the ball back to Jordan Houston at the edge of the box, the Falkirk keeper dived to his right to parry but the ball landed at the feet of Aaron Mooney who netted from close range.

Rangers first goal in the second period came when the Falkirk keeper failed to gather Jordan Houston’s cross from the right and Carlo Pigniatello was well placed to knock the ball into the net. The sixth goal followed soon after, the keeper dived to his right to parry Zak Rudden’s shot from the edge of the box, Dylan Patterson collected the loose ball and crossed to the back post where Jordan Houston   knocked the ball over the line.

A fine pass from Carlo Pigniatello sent Zak Rudden through in the inside left channel and he finished with a great shot over the keeper. The second period’s scoring was complete with a long-range Scott Gray shot from the left side of the box that gave the keeper no chance.

Rangers added to their tally with a goal in each half of the final period, first up Aaron Reid charged down a clearance from the visitor’s keeper and the ball broke to Zak Rudden who had the simple task of rolling the ball into the empty net. The final goal came from Aaron Mooney’s corner from the right and Scott Gray’s flick over the keeper at the near post.
