Narrow Win For Under 15’s

Rangers 2 Hamilton Accies 1

Rangers 15’s edged out Hamilton Accies in an entertaining game at Murray Park last night. Rangers took the lead after 15 minutes when Lewis Martin’s through ball sent Danny Stoney clear to advance into the box and beat the keeper.

The visitors came close to drawing level two minutes into the second period, they made progress down the right  into the box and the shot across the Trialist keeper came back off his right hand post.  Later in the period it was Rangers turn to be denied by the post, Danny Stoney got a flick to a long ball to send the Trialist N0. 20 clear, his shot beat the keeper but came back off the post.

Rangers then looked to have extended their lead, Lewis Martin sent Danny Stoney clear and he knocked it past the advancing keeper, with the Rangers players celebrating a goal a defender got back to hook the ball clear, with no linesmen at this level the referee waved play on. The general consensus of those watching was that the ball had crossed the line. It was to cost  Rangers when soon after Accies equalised, the striker controlled the ball played into the box and a superb turn gave him the chance to find the net via the keepers legs.

Midway through the third period Hamilton were controversially reduced to ten men when their full-back was given a straight red for dissent. It appears his offence was telling the ref to “away an bile yer heid”. A few minutes later Rangers regained the lead from a free-kick at the left hand angle of the box, Ryan Sinnamon stepped up and his shot took a slight deflection to beat the keeper.

Rangers came close to adding another near the end, a great run and cross by Danny Stoney on the right had the Accies defence under pressure and the headed clearance fell for Luke Hammond who’s shot rebounded clear off the keepers left hand post.

Rangers:- Trilaist (GK); Ryan Sinamon, Robert McLardie, Greg Pascazio, Ross Kellock; Luke Hammond, Lewis Martin, Dylan Dykes, Kjeld McIntyre (Andy Biddulph); Trialist N0.20, Danny Stoney.
