Rangers 3 Dunfermline Athletic 0
Three goals in the first half was enough to secure a win in tonight’s Under 16’s friendly against Dunfermline Athletic at Murray Park. The Ibrox youngsters threatened right from the start and the first real effort on goal came in eight minutes, Ryan Sinnamon played the ball inside to Dylan Dykes who in turn passed it on to Callum McConnell and the visitors keeper made a great save low to his left.
Two minutes later and Dykes combined with the Trialist No7 who went past the full-back to the byline and Dykes was on hand to fire in a shot from the cutback which again the keeper saved to his left. Rangers took the lead seven minutes later, Sinnamon played the ball forward on the right and a great dummy from the Trialist No 7 completely fooled the defender, his cutback from the byline saw Paul Kane’s effort blocked, the ball then fell to Dylan Dykes who found the net despite the keeper getting a hand to it.
The Trialist No 7 was the architect of Rangers second goal ten minutes later, breaking from the halfway line his run took him past two defenders before slipping a pass through to Dylan Dykes to shoot past the keeper. Rangers third came two minutes before the break, a good passing sequence saw Rangers keep possession before it was sent out right to Trialist No.7 who cut inside and hit a left foot shot from the edge of the box which the Dunfermline keeper probably should have saved, but it slipped through his grasp and into the net.

The second half was a more even affair and the first real chance came on 64 minutes, Charlie Telfer breaking into the box from the right, his pass across goal found Craig Halkett who was denied by a brilliant tip over by the keeper. With fifteen minutes left a 25 yard effort looked to being heading to Liam Kelly’s top left hand corner, but the Rangers keeper produced a stunning save to touch the ball over for a corner.
Not to be out done the Dunfermline keeper excelled in the final ten minutes. Firstly Charlie Telfer beat the full-back on the right and his cross saw Halkett bullet a header goalwards which the keeper did well to turn over. He was again in action to turn a Telfer shot round the post after Dykes had played him through.
